If you have a fancy road bike, it might tell passers-by that you’re athletic and dedicated (and suggest that, man or woman, you shave your legs). If you have a sturdy bike with a child seat, it says you’re probably a busy health- and environmentally-conscious parent. And if you have a BMX, people will assume you’re young, cool and can pop a wheelie.
But there’s a new type of bike, and a new type of rider, appearing on Southend roads, from London brand Bobbin Bicycles. A Bobbin bike looks retro, but is kitted out to a high, modern standard, giving a smooth feel designed to capture the magic and excitement of your first ride.
One of the best things about the Bobbin bikes is their customisability – you can choose from a variety of models, take inspiration from a palette of colours and choose from an array of vintage-style accessories. This makes the finished bike unique, so your bike really does say a lot about who you are – whether that’s whimsical, playful, practical or stylish.
Here’s what Elle (pictured) had to say about her Matte Sage Birdie Bobbin bike:
“I absolutely love it. It’s really light and easy to ride and as the bar is low you can wear anything when riding it! Riding a bike is such a nice way to get around and everywhere I go people ask me where I got my bike from. My Bobbin is the perfect fashion accessory!”
