Music is a big part of travel. Many enjoy finding the perfect song to accompany a walk or run, or one that flawlessly matches the rhythms of the bus or train. Some energise themselves with catchy tunes before an early shift. Others like plugging in their headphones and switching off with something more relaxing after a long day at work. Lots of people just love music so much that they can’t go long without a song or two.
Of course there are also those who don’t really like music all that much and instead listen to audiobooks, catch up on podcasts and tune their car radios into their favourite channels to stay up-to-date with news, traffic and weather announcements.
Because there’s such a variety, we wanted to find out what exactly music means to people commuting in Southend. So we designed a survey to get a better idea. We’d be very grateful if you could spare 3-4 minutes to fill it out and let us know if you’re more likely to be ‘Walking on Sunshine’ with Katrina and the Waves or ‘Road Trippin’’ with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. If you’d like to take part just follow this link.
The results will be posted on the website as soon as they’re available, so keep watching this space to get a sense of the Southend soundscape.
