Last Wednesday saw the first of 2014’s weekly lunchtime walks, and we were delighted to have over 25 people come along to take a stroll and get some fresh air during their break.
The weather was beautiful and we all enjoyed the chance to meet new people, although the star of the day was probably baby Noah who attended with his mum.
Here’s what weekly walk regular Karen Warren said:
“I’ve been doing the Wednesday lunchtime walks for about a year now. They are a great way to get fresh air, take time out from the desk and meet new people. The walks only take about 45 minutes so there’s time to grab a quick sarnie before or after. You return to your desk feeling refreshed having walked through green spaces and had a chat. Plus you feel good about yourself because you’ve done some exercise. I’d definitely encourage other people to come along, especially now that the weather’s getting better. The walks we do to the Pier, Prittlewell Square and The Cliffs Pavilion are particularly nice, and we often build in an extension so we can eat our lunch there and buy a Rossi 99 before returning back to base.”
The lunchtime walks take place every Wednesday, starting from outside the Civic Centre at 12.30pm, and Ideas in Motion is offering first time walkers a FREE pedometer.
