The Annual Tweed and Vintage Fun Ride returned for its fifth consecutive year on 20th September and once again it was a huge success. More than 60 people ventured out of their homes wearing outfits as impressive as their bikes, to take part in the off-road cycle ride.
There was an idyllic atmosphere, with the sun shining down and wartime songs being sung. With the riders all lined up and ready to go at Belfairs Woodland Centre, Councillor Stephen Aylen waved the starting flag and off they set, racing towards Southchurch Park.
The route passed along the seafront, making for an enjoyable and scenic ride, and when the riders reached their final destination, they all sat down to enjoy a well-earned cream or afternoon tea from the park café.
Well done to everybody who took part and made it such a fantastic day. And why not start scouring local shops for the very best tweed and vintage outfits ready for next year’s event?!
