Ideas in Motion and Cycle Southend will be at Village Green again this year with plenty on offer to help everyone have fun and travel better in Southend.
There will be vocal and dance flash mobs to look out for both at the festival and when making your way there on public transport. If you spot the flash mobs why not grab your camera and share your photos or videos with us on social media using the hash tag #villagegreenflashmob.
Once at the festival you can drop by our bus, where we’ll have literary offerings throughout the day. And while you’re at it come and pay us a visit at our marquee.
We will also have a free and fun obstacle course, which is part cycling and part on foot, making it as inclusive as possible for all children (and parents) to take part. There will be two courses set up side by side so that participants can challenge their friends or siblings; adding to the excitement.
Something else on offer will be our Balanceability Fun, giving very young children the opportunity to try out our balance bikes and balance equipment- such as the stepping stones. Although this will be monitored by a member of our staff it will be under parental supervision.
As well as all of that, we will have a walking trail that will encourage children to walk around the park looking for objects that we will have hidden. They will also be asked to note down the location of these objects on their trail sheet, which they will have picked up from the marquee.
For all of those activities the participants will be rewarded with a sticker for taking part.
Cycle Parking – Travel to the Village Green by bike! Enter the Festival via the entrance in Leigh Road and look for the Cycle Southend signs for our FREE cycle parking in our Cycle Village. The parking is FREE but bikes are left at your discretion so therefore please bring a lock as the parking will not be monitored.
