Southend’s annual Tweed Ride is taking place on Sunday 16 September. You are welcome to come along dressed in your best tweed and vintage outfits. Vintage and retro bicycles are welcome too!
The ride will begin at 2pm from Belfairs Woodland Centre, cycling to Southchurch Park where we will arrive around 3.15pm. Not-for-profit social enterprise Bikeworks will be at Belfairs from 1.15pm providing free bike checks and support along the ride.
If you would like a cream tea, they will be available at Southchurch Park café on the day. Cream tea costs £3.50 and is a lovely way to celebrate another year of the tweed ride.
This unique bike ride is family-friendly and suitable for all abilities, and will take place at a leisurely pace. The route is mainly off road, on shared space and cycle paths including the Prittle Brook Greenway and City Beach.
We hope you can join us, if you have any questions email SEAT@southend.gov.uk or call 01702 215595.
*Dressing up in tweed or other vintage attire is encouraged but not essential.
