This month the South Essex Active Travel (SEAT) team is launching a series of roadshow events in locations across south Essex. The aim of the roadshows is to get people thinking about active travel and how walking, cycling and the use of public transport can better connect them to jobs, education and training opportunities.
We are pleased to announce that we have a special guest joining us at the Southend roadshow… TOWIE’s James Lock! James will be there between 12.30pm and 1.30pm racing on the static bikes, blending up delicious drink on the smoothie bike, and helping us promote active travel!
Please do come along to a roadshow event near you. Events will be taking place at the following dates and locations:
Thursday, 15 March – Basildon town centre (by Costa Coffee)
Thursday, 22 March – Royal Square, Southend-on-Sea (by The Royals Shopping Centre)
Wednesday, 28 March – Grays high street (by Barclays Bank)
All three events start at 8am and finish at 5pm.
At each event you will have the opportunity to get a Personalised Travel Plan (PTP). Delivered by active travel advisors, PTPs provide tailored information and motivation to swap car journeys for active travel.
If you complete a personalised travel plan you’ll be entered into a prize draw to WIN a £400 voucher to spend at a local bike shop. You will also receive a complimentary bagel, provided by The Bagelry.
There will also be free bike servicing, and giveaways of earphones and re-usable water bottles for people who engage with the team and receive advice.
Don’t miss the opportunity to win cycling prizes, have a go on a smoothie-making bike and race your family and friends in a static bike race!
