Thorpe Bay Rotary are delighted to announce that they are once again able to offer the opportunity to cycle on this lovely local island – usually unable to enter without a pass.
This year the Ride is being run in a different way to that used for the last sixteen years. Instead of raising funds for a specific charity or charities, this year the choice of charity to support is entirely up to the entrants.
When completing the application you will be asked to select a charity from a drop down box. Although there are over 700 charities listed, if your favourite charity is not shown, please firstname.lastname@example.org with the full name and charity number of the charity that you wish to support.
The flat terrain and quiet roads make the island a perfect place for cycling. Riders of all ages and abilities can reach Churchend, the island’s quiet old main village.
The four mile circuit beyond the village includes a stretch of gravelled road suitable only for touring cycles or mountain bikes with stout tyres. Three circuits round this will complete your 23 mile trip and allow you to reach the most isolated part of the island.
Why not get a group of your family and friends together and have a really enjoyable day out whilst giving a boost to your favourite charity?
